3-Axis Gantry and Rotate EOAT
Unloading parts from mold machines can be challenging due to the tight physical constraints available between the two mold faces to insert an end-of-arm tool. This specific application had a further challenge of requiring faster than average cycle times where only a few seconds were allotted for the end-of-arm tool to zip across a distance of 2m, rotate 90 degrees, move a vertical distance of 1m, grab parts from the mold face, exit the machine and return to its original position. A complete solution was designed for this application which includes the steel frame base, a 3-axis gantry system (including necessary cable management and sensing requirements), and a rotating end-of-arm tool that is both light and strong to withstand the high accelerations of movement.
